Robotic Lung Resection

Robotic Lung surgeon Singapore

Dr Aneez is a pioneer and leading robotic lung surgeon in Singapore. In ICTS, robotic lung resection is the preferred platform used for our patients undergoing lung resections.

What is robotic Assisted surgery?

Robotic surgery is currently the most advanced technological platform of minimally invasive thoracic surgery, where the surgeon sits on a console metre away from the patient and performs the surgery. It is accompanied by 3D vision, extremely precise operating arms, and extreme manoeuvrability.

Who does the operation?

Dr Aneez, a well-known robotic lung surgeon in Singapore, and his team perform robotic surgery with the help of the robotic arms.

How is it done?

The patient will be put under anaesthesia. As opposed to conventional thoracic surgery where big cuts are done, robotic surgery only has 3 to 4 small incisions, approximately 8mm in diameter. That’s the reason why robotic lung surgeon as well as patients both prefer robotic lung surgery in Singapore for resolving lungs related problems.

How long is the recovery period?

With this method, patients usually go home in 2 to 3 days. Because of the smaller incisions, recovery is much faster than conventional methods. This means less pain after surgery and shorter hospital stays. Typically, patients should go back to their normal lives in approximately two weeks.

What are the types of Robotic Lung Resection Surgery?

All types of lung resections can be done with robotic surgery. This includes a wedge, segmentectomy (removing a segment), lobectomy (removing a lobe of the lung), or a pneumonectomy (removing the whole lung).
